The Karthika Brahmotsavam celebrations of Goddess Sri Padmavathi in Tiruchanur are being held with great grandeur. The festival, which began on November 17, will continue until November 25. Every day, vehicle processions (Vahana Sevas) for the Goddess are conducted ceremoniously from 8 to 10 in the morning and 7 to 9 in the evening. The sacred town is adorned beautifully with flowers, filled with the sounds of devotional music and the joyful presence of countless devotees.
On Friday morning, the Pallaki Utsavam (palanquin festival) was conducted for the Goddess. The deity, decorated with resplendent ornaments, was taken out in procession through the streets while devotees chanted her names, filling the air with devotion. In the evening, the Goddess will grant darshan to her devotees while mounted on the Gaja Vahanam (elephant vehicle). On November 22, she will grace the Sarvabhupala Vahanam in the morning and, in the night, the much-awaited Garuda Vahana Seva will be performed, a special highlight awaited eagerly by devotees.
Just as the Garuda Seva of Lord Srinivasa in Tirumala is celebrated with great splendor, the Garuda Vahana Seva of Goddess Padmavathi in Tiruchanur too radiates deep spiritual fervor and devotion. The Brahmotsavam fills devotees with divine bliss as the entire town of Tiruchanur resounds with festive joy and devotion.
